79th Field Hospital
This scholarship was established in 2000 by Mary Jane Kohlenberg in honor of her late husband, Gilbert, and the men and women who served in the 79th Field Hospital during World War II.

Jedh Barker American Hero ROTC Annual
This scholarship was established in 2012 to honor the memory of former Truman student, Vietnam War veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Jedh C. Barker. A standout athlete at Park Ridge (NJ) High School, Barker was recruited to play football at Truman State University in 1965. In 1966, he left Truman to enlist in the Marine Corps. A Lance Corporal machine gunner, Barker and his unit, Fox Company 2nd Battilion 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, came under fire while on patrol on the demilitarized zone in the Con Thein area of South Vietnam on September 21, 1967. He was wounded twice during the battle when ambushed by enemy regiments and continued to exchange fire. An enemy hand grenade dropped among the cluster of Marines, and Barker took the full force of the blast to save his comrades. He spent the final moments of his life trying to administer a battle dressing on the wound of a comrade. For his heroism, the Medal of Honor was presented to Barker's family by Vice President Spiro Agnew during ceremonies at the White House in 1969. Fox Company ceased to exist as a fighting unit. Barker is Truman's only Medal of Honor recipient, the highest military decoration presented by the United States Government to a member of its armed forces. This scholarship is funded by Tom and Susan Ballard of Granger, IA, Mark and Robin Gambaiana of Des Moines, IA, formerly of Kirksville, MO, and John W. Barker of Lakewood, NJ.

David T. Good Memorial
This scholarship was established in 1999 by family and friends of David T. Good ('98) at the time of his unfortunate passing. Good was an active member of the ROTC while at Truman and was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a lieutenant upon graduation. Good graduated from officer basic school at Fort Bliss in October of 1998 and died in an automobile accident in November of the same year. This scholarship was established to assist and encourage other Truman students who desire to pursue a career in the military.

This scholarship was established in 2006 by Denise Smith ('79) in honor of her family members that graduated or attended Truman: Betty Jean (Jones) Smith ('84), Gregory Wayne Smith ('83), Dorothy (Jones) Nowlin ('80, '84), Edison Nowlin ('59, '61), Steve Nowlin, Terri Nowlin, Debbie (Nowlin) Parnell ('79, '84), Michael Parnell ('81, '84), Keri (Nowlin) Tipton ('91), Scott Tipton ('87), Clyde Smith ('81), Amanda (Boyer) Hall and Christopher W.
