| Dr. Teresa Heckert Memorial |
| This scholarship fund was established in 2014 by family and friends of the late Dr. Teresa M. Heckert to memorialize and commemorate Teri's significant and lasting contributions to the Truman State University community. Teri Heckert joined the Truman faculty in 1994 as an assistant professor of psychology. Over the years, her career advanced to several leadership positions on the faculty, within the department, across campus and within the community. She served as chairperson of the Psychology Department, was a member of the Faculty Senate and was president for several terms. Most recently she was a member of the Guiding Coalition that worked with the University President to create a vision document for the future of the University. She has served as co-chair of the Faculty/Staff annual campaign at Truman and served as the chair of the Northeast Missouri Regional Campaign Committee for the Bright Minds Bright Futures fundraising campaign. She was also a member and past president of the Kirksville Kiwanis Club and held volunteer positions in her church, the Girl Scouts and the public schools. Teri Heckert passed away on February 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Charles Heckert, and two children, Diana and Eric. Dr. Heckert received her bachelor's degree from Lebanon Valley College and her master's degree and doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology at Bowling Green University. The fund has been created with memorial contributions from family and friends through the University's "Pursue the Future" campaign. |

| The family of Dr. Jack W. Hines established this scholarship in 1977 as a memorial to a man who served Truman as an instructor of political science from 1968 through 1976. |

| Friends and relatives have memorialized Dr. William Kitts through a scholarship endowed in 1983. Kitts came to Truman in 1966 and served as associate professor of social science education through his retirement in 1978. |

| Dr. James Tichenor Honorary |
| This scholarship fund was created in 2010 by the Dr. James Tichenor Honorary Fund Committee. This committee was chaired by Dr. Teresa Heckert. Committee members included Michael Schwend, Dr. James Judd, Samantha Wilson, James Austin Tichenor, Dawn (Tichenor) Fritz, Dr. James Lyons, Dr. Robert Cowan, and Brad Chambers. This endowment recognizes Dr. James L. Tichenor's contributions to this University over a career that spanned more than 40 years. His accomplishments include reform of the psychology curriculum, support of the institution as the mission change transformed the University, and a daily commitment to providing meaningful and enriching experiences for the students who have filled his classroom. Dr. Tichenor's teaching interests encompass diverse applied areas within psychology including the use of empirical methods in the assessment and treatment of behavior disorders. Of particular interest are courses in behavior modification, psychological testing, child psychopathology and clinical psychology. Dr. Tichenor's current applied research focus is on the development of alternative treatments for children with behaviors difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and parent training.

| Terry and Faye Whitworth Social and Cultural Studies |
| This scholarship was established in 2019 with a cash gift made by Terry and Faye Whitworth of Tacoma, Washington. Terry and Faye were graduates of Truman State University (1968). Terry graduated with a Bachelor of Science in education (Zoology) and Faye with a Bachelor of Science in Education (Social Science). Both Terry and Faye earned post graduate degrees from Utah State University. Faye holds a Master of Science and Master of Education and Terry holds a Master of Science and PhD in Entomology. Upon earning his PhD, Terry worked as an entomologist for a pest control company in Tacoma, Washington and Faye taught high school History. Terry eventually started Whitworth Pest Solutions and is an adjunct professor with the entomology department at Washington State University. He has devoted many years to the study of blow flies and their relatives and is well known as an expert in the taxonomy of the family. Both Terry and Faye credit their education at Truman for preparing them for graduate studies and successful careers. |
